Hello members, I recently purchased a set of Wald Duchatelet wheels. The current size are 19x10.5+32 with a 3.5"lip and 19x11.5+19 4.5"lip.
I took my wheels to a tire shop for a test fitment and are to aggressive to fit my car, a gs300 yr 2000. Initially the 19x10.5+32 were going to be my front wheels but now are my rears because of the better fitment and sits flush.
with that said I want to get my 19x11.5 wheels rebuilt to a smaller size of 19x9.5. That size was suggested to me by the tire shop. What I need help is choosing the size of barrel and lips. The 19x10.5 when I first tested the fitment on the front was touching my upper control arms. So I need a smaller
size that wont be hitting my control arms. Any advice would help, thanks guys.

In all honesty if you have the money to do such thing then go ahead it's your money. For the amount of work it will take I suggest just selling the wheels and going a different route or at least getting something in a size and offset that's fits to eliminate the headaches and troubles you'll run into to.

But like stated before do what you gotta do. I know of wheel widening. But never personally seen a wheel reduced.

True, I already put the wheels up for sale. I contacted shops that build wheels and they dont know exactly what size I should get unless I take down measurements on how much outer clearance I have with the 19x10.5 in the front. It will just cost more money so I decided to sell.

You have 2 options in the front if you want to go with 9.5. Assuming all the info you have in your first post is correct, then you can do the following:

19x9.5 +32, 3" lip, 6.5" barrel (I'd suggest this one, so it'll match the fitment in the rear and if you ever go with larger brakes you can still run a spacer to clear them.)
19x9.5 +19, 3.5" lip, 6" barrel

Yea I was thinking the same, after searching up other people's setups I found a setup close to what I am trying to achieve. My concern is if I get that size, will the barrel be touching my upper control arm. The 19x10.5+32 was touching my upper control arm with no clearance space whatsoever.

So I want to measure the barrel of the 19x10.5 wheel but don't know how. I might sound like a total noob but to find out the size it's not a simple subtraction right? like total width subtracted by lip size and the result is the size of the barrel? lol

I don't think it'll be an issue with the sizing I posted, but I also don't drive a GS, so I'm not familiar with the wheel requirements.

It is simple subtraction. The lip + the barrel = width of the wheel. The mistake that most people make is that they measure from the wrong reference points. Wheel width is measured from bead to bead (the part the tire touches on the inside). Most people that aren't aware of this measure their rims from outer flange to outer flange (the part that is visible once a tire is mounted).
