Default 20" GS 400 Rubbing

This is my first post. I have a 00' GS 400 with H&R springs and 255/35-20" tires. When my suspension packs my tires rub. My offset seems to be o.k. it's just rubbing on the tops of the front wheel wells. Am I running the wrong size tires? Should I go to 19" rims and give myself a little more wheel well? What is the best set up? I Like the 20's but I don't want to worry about going down the freeway with the wife and kid loaded in the car, and having the tires rub when i hit a bump.
Thanks for the replies!!

What is the offset of the wheel?

What is the width of the front wheels?

The 255/35/20 should be fine too I have never had a problem you might just need to roll the fender.

Hey guys,
I am interested in purchasing 20's but was wondering if 35 profile is too thin? Please let me know because a couple of my friends have had 255/35 and they said their rims bent. Any info would help?

Thanks

Well I don't think you can fit a 40 profile, so 35 is it. I see you're in NY though, land of CRAP roads.

How does one get fenders rolled or figure out how to do it?

Edit: Kinda answered my own question with a quick look on google... 2 decent articles:

I had the same issue w/ front wheel well rub. I simply took a heat gun and pushed up the plastic in the well. I also cut the plastic too, but my drop is more severe than yours....It is not the fender lip that rubs on the GS, it is at the top of the wheel well. Your tire will rub upon driveway entrance w/ tires turned and rolling your fender will help that a bit, but it will NOT help your tire rub when going straight.

See my below thread on what we did.....good luck and stick w/ the 20's!!!
