tires rubbing.....want to lower
hey, i've got a 92' ES with 18x7.5 rims wrapped in 225/40/18 tires. whenever i have a carload of people my tires rub in the back (i'm sure you all heard of this many times before from other users). i'm looking into lowering my car, but it seems like the rubbing would just get worse if i don't do anything. can you all offer me any advice on what to do? it appears that the tires are rubbing on the far outside. is there anything i can do to fix this problem so that i can lower my car?
by the way, how much of a drop do you guys have on your ES's?
thanks,
Curtis

I'm not sure of your offsets, but if your tire fits inside the wheel well(if not too wide), you can trim the plastc lining inside the outer lip of the fender. If your model resembles the '99, you may be able to remove 1" to 1-1/2" of it with a rotary tool or a drill with sander/file bit. But be careful.

next time, buy the correct offsets for your ride. Short of cutting or rolling the fenders, you really have no other choice besides buying the wheels with the correct offset. The older ES's (hell, even the newer ones) can't support very wide wheels...
