Default I need tire size advise on some 20's!

Im getting to put new tires on my 20's, they are 20x9, 20x10's. I had 255/35/20 up front, and 285/30/20 in the rear. They fit the rims width perfectly, but I also had some rubbing issues with the fenders rolled, and the plastic liner cut out. They didnt rub a rediculous amount anymore, but still enough to be loud and anoying. For those of you that are running 245 front, 275 rear, do the tires appear stretched on the rims, or do they seen to fit well. Im thinking about going down to those sizes, but I do not like the stretched look at all. Any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks

yes they will.

245 fits best on 8.5
255 fits best on 9
275 fits best on 9.5
285 fits best on 10

i have seen 19x10 with 275 tires, it looks scretch badly. i don't really like that look too

Thats pretty much what I was thinking, looks like I might be staying with the sizes that I have now. I geuss I will either rub alittle bit, or raise the car up alittle bit(damn I dont want to do that).

Does anyone have any experience with what tires might have a more verticle sidewall than others? I thought I read a post before about someone having Nittos, and saying that the sidewall was real verticle, which helped as far as rubbing goes. Every little bit will help!

rom, you think a 285 goes best with a 10"? i have the 275, and many many others here do to, but i'd also like to get the 285 because the 275 is too flat against the 10"

no, i thought it's the other way? when you have 275, the sidewall isn't vertical but instead goes towards the inside of the wheel, that gives you the extra room to avoid rubbing, no? that's why with 275 you have less chance of rubbing. that's what i always thought.

i haev so3 in the front of my 19, and they are PHAT. the whole sidewall curves quite a bit and i think it's thick. on the other hand my yoko avs in the back are very vertical. i have seen nitto and they are very vertical too. not sure about others

yes i am pretty sure. i have seen rmmgs4's 19x10 and he has 285. awesome look, the sidewall is very vertical, looks right. i have also seen 19x10 with 275. to me it's a nono, too curve in, just doesn't look as good

rominl, I dont think I was clear on what I was trying to say. I know the 275 will angle in slightly because it will be stretched alittle bit. But the brand of 285 that I have has a pretty good sized rim gaurd lip on the tire, and it comes out a little further than other tires that I have seen before. Im thinking that there are probably some 285's that are manufatured so the side wall is verticle, opposed to a sidewall that comes out a little for the rim gaurd.

you know of rmmgs4 did any mods or if he had an aggressive offset to avoid rubbing? cause that's the issue that i'm afraid of, cause i'd really like to get 285 instead of have read many times against it

i know he shaved the rear fender but that's about it. not sure about the offset though, but it's very very close to fender

bravo, I didnt have any issues at all with the 285's rubbing on the inside on the suspension, etc.. All of my issues were with the outside wheel well lip, and I did shave it also. I do have my car sitting pretty low though, the rear tire is just tucked in the well, no gap at all.

I'm running a 275 on my 10" rims in the rear and they don't look stretched.. IMO they look perfect.. But they don't extend over the lip which I don't like.. If you want I could snap a few pics and post them here.. Let me know..
