Default HELP!!! Choose a Wheel for My GS!

I'm looking on Ebay/Tirerack/Yahoo-Shopping for a set of new rims for my 1999 GS300. I need your help and advise on what size of rims I should go for.

Here is what I heard:

1. Only go up 2" more than the stock rims
2. Ride will suffered if you go up to 19" (with stock shocks and susp)
3. Get flat more often
4. Overall performance downgraded.
5. Accelaration and Braking will suffered
6. DID I MISS ANYTHING ELSE?

I'm looking @ a set of 19" Chrome BREYTON MAGIC Wheels W/ Tires 5x114.3 (5x4.5).
RIMS:
Color: Chrome
Front Diameter: 19x9
Rear Diameter: 19x10
Lug Pattern: 5x114.3 (5x4.5)
Slight curb check on two rims nothing major
No Visible Rust
Fully Detailed
TIRES:
Front: 245/35ZR19 93Y
Rear: 275/30ZR19 96Y
Thread Left: About 90%
Brand: Yokohama

So the big question is: YOU THINK i should stick with a 18" or go for 19". Note: I only have this one car to drive to work, if i get a flat every month, that would be bad for "bid-nuzz" So help! This guy probably want it for no less than $1500. Good deal?

OR just forget all about it! Breyton Magic is crap???? Recommendation!????

Thanks in advance all CL's Brothers/Sisters.

chuck..i think on gs 19s is a must

you should look at gsxotics car..its apparent

i dont think 19s get a flat everymonht

sure you have to be more careful about potholes and stuff...but there are many members on this board running 19s and 20s..

you should be fine

good luck, and post pics

I'm looking @ a set of 19" Chrome BREYTON MAGIC Wheels W/ Tires 5x114.3 (5x4.5).
1) purely preference
2) true (lower profile tires will give you better performance, but at the sacrifice of comfort)
3) false (unless you are talking about hitting potholes, then true)
4) depends (if you go too wide, you'll have too much traction therefore more friction = slower car, if you get too heavy a rim/tire combo=more unsprung weight more rotational mass, tougher to get moving=slower car) 18" are more for racing 19"s more for show.
5) Breyton's are BMW rims no?

I wouldnt get the Breytons, they dont look that good and they are made for BMW's.
I wouldnt get Lorinsers, brabus, AMG's, or Hamans for my Lex ... oh no.
Please show some LEX pride.

Lightbulb Hello Chuck

Hey Chuck. Was up Bro. Can you wait til May 18th North-east Mini-meet. I;ll let you ride in my GS w/19's so you can judge for yourself. That's what Meets are for bro. Don't get the Breyton's they stink.

19's or 20's for sure! I've got 19's on mine right now and if I were to do it again I would probley get 20's. I think 18's look to small, but if you are going for all performance 18's could be considerable.

Default Breyton is a NO GO!

Thank you all for your inputs. I have decided not to go for this set of wheels. As Paul said, I will come to the North-East-Mini-Meet on May 18, to check out his 19" set-up and get more ideas and info. on wheels. My idea of modding is to enhence the performance of the vehicle, maintain the clean classy look and ENJOY riding it! This is why I love CL's, I would have got some stupid looking rims which made for BMW's on my Lex DOH'

About the flat, I just checked with my friends who own the "others" (non_lexus), which 19". They confirmed with me that flats were caused by potholes and for simply reason where we are living in "Philly" where the streets filled with potholes after the winter we got here. Like my mother said: "Some people can't have nice things"

So my next question:

What is the perfect set up wheels(size, brand)/tires(size,brand) combo in your experience and pure personal preference?

Some TMV price would help a lot in my decision making too!

YOU GUYS KNOW SO MUCH ABOUT LEXUS, I FEEL LIKE @$$ on this forum hehehehe!

Thank you all,
