Default Who has the smoothest riding tire?

I'm looking to replace my 17" summer tires for a very quite and soft driving all season tire. I have Blizzak snow tires for winter driving but I still feel the summer tires are harder and dont last very long.

Can you recommend a good all season brand and just in case a summer tire too

Thanks

if youre not overly concerned about performance and more concerned about comfort and ride, i would suggest the bridegestone turanza LS-Z. its a touring tire but comes in the 235/45/17 size. check the tirerack. kinda pricey too however.

Hey ATLgs4,
I wished I would have seen something about these tires a week ago, the reviews on Tirerack are awesome. I went with Pilot Sports, as my Father in-law has them on his S500 with 18" AMG's and they were the only tire he found that was dead quiet. On my set up they are noisier than the stock 16's I had but acceptable for now. If they get any noisier I will be replacing with the LS-Z's.

I'm going with the michelin pilot sport AS 235/45/17. Getting them (4) on Tues for $457.91 installed

It pay's to have a friend who runs a tire shop

If what you want is smooth & quiet, check out Michelin Energy MXV4 Plus. I have them on my '99 LS400. They wear like iron, are very quiet, and get better gas mileage than any other tire I've used.

Caveats:
1. These are NOT performance tires. If your objective is .9G cornering, this is not the tire for you.
2. Despite the "all season" designation, these are pretty useless in snow. Get snow tires for the winter.

Why the AS? You have snow tires!

After you've, ahem... broken them in a bit I"d love to know how you like em.

The reason for the AS is I dont care for summer tires and the short life they have (15k). Plus the ride quality is not great either so for me AS seems to be the way to go. I still plan on using the Blizzaks
