Gewalt Evolution 3-Piece
I was browsing this site, and I came across these Gewalt Evolution 3-piece wheels.
http://shop.store.yahoo.com/lexuspar...ltbyarrow.html
Does anybody have any good/bad experiences with them, or know of any other vendors? I ran a search, and found a really old thread where somebody brought up a couple of Gewalt wheels, but it didn't have much information.
I'm looking for a mesh wheel in a 17" fitment for an ES300 (probably 17 x 7, offset in the low 40's), does anybody have additional suggestions? I'm not too familiar with JDM wheels, as far as Europe goes I know of the BBS RX and RXII (although Tire Rack only lists 18 x 8 for the ES, which is bigger than I want to go).
Other than mesh wheels, I'm looking at styles with heavy spokes, and styles with machined faces. I'm noticing that a lot of the nicer-looking wheels don't seem to come in sizes below 18"
I'm trying to find a good balance of sport and luxury in a wheel. I was set on the OZ Opera for awhile, but it's a bit heavy, and I've read every thread on this board about it, and a lot of people scoff at it being too Mercedes-Benz-looking. I'll agree that it looks very similar to some of the AMG Monoblock designs I've seen on the 1996-2002 E-Class.
Thanks for any suggestions, I'm still in the research phase. Looking to spend in the ballpark of $300-400 a wheel, it's not that I'm cheap, but I'd rather save for that next car than put HRE 540's on a car pushing 7 years old.

we have mixed feeling about that site...basically the owner has been reluctant to answer many of fellow CL guys inquiry...and this is before people order the stuff..imagine after you paid the guy and waiting for your goods to arrive..
for your budget, tirerack has decent wheels from europe too, like the OZs...

Alright, I definitely won't buy the wheels there, then. Is the Gewalt 3-piece a quality wheel? If so, who sells them? If not, any other wheel recommendations? I like the BBS at Tire Rack, but they only list the 18x8's, I'd prefer a 17" wheel.

GS4Will, thanks for the info about the discontinuing of those wheels. No wonder I had such trouble finding them at other vendors, and why the Gewalts on that Auto Fashion for Lexus site seemed so cheap. Any other good choices on a 17" mesh wheel that will fit an ES?
