Default Shopping for Wheels + Tires

I'm sure there's other threads with this same general topic but I'm going to ask specifics about what I want, and excuse my 'green-ness' about wheel specs. For the record I have a 09 IS 250 RWD

Right now I have the stock 18's on 225/40R 18 and 255/40R 18 tires. I'm looking to buy some 19's and ideally lower profile tires. I'd been looking at buying the wheels off of eBay, but it seems like the 'Wheel Compatibility' checker is going to say that any 19" wheel is incompatible since that's not OEM.

So I guess what I'm asking is, what do I need to check for as far as wheels go. I know the bolt pattern is 5 x 114.3mm, but beyond that I don't know what I should look for. As for tires, what is a good low tire spec that I should look at? My car isn't dropped if that makes a difference.

Lastly, any suggestions as to where to look to buy wheels? I'm not trying to spend a ton of money (meaning 1100 and under budget). I'm in Orlando and I've looked online at Tire Kingdom, Discount Tire etc. I just figured I'd find more of a selection and probably better deal via eBay.

A lot of these threads poppin up lately and ill regurgitate what others have said in those threads.
First off at least you know what size you want (19s)
What type of fitment are you lookin for? Flush? Within stock measurements?
Your car isnt dropped...Is it going to stay that way? Or Drop later?
Daily driver?

You mentioned your car isnt dropped, staying that way definitely makes wheel shopping easier (aka fender mods), its just that I havent seen many that stay stock height for long.

All else fails...searching *19" wheels IS350* on ebay will give you a broad spectrum of wheels that fall into is350 offset territory and you can post back with the ones you find that you like and we can go from there...

Fitment, I guess I'm looking for within stock measurements.
As far as dropping the car, that's not in my immediate plans. This is my normal, everyday commute vehicle.

An example of a wheel I'm looking for is this

Not sure about that particular wheel maker, but I'm looking for something along the lines of that style.

There is a lot more to wheel's than diameter, width and offset.

Be sure you either get a lug-centric wheel or a proper centering rings for the wheel and the vehicle. Also be sure to get a proper lug nut for the lug nut seat and the vehicle. These are important items many people do not take into consideration when looking at wheels.
