Default How much did you pay? HONESTLY!!

I see alot of people on this board have very nice wheels on their rides (HRE, Volk, etc). I was wondering how much you guys are paying for your wheels. Most of the time when you ask someone on the street what they paid, they quote some astronomical price (usually MSRP), but I figured you guys would be honest on the board.

Also, how much do you think is wise to spend? I tend to think that anything over 3,000 dollars(for 20s) is a bit much, after all they are just gonna get bent up messed up and worn anyway. And you are gonna want some new ones in 6months, because we all have short attention spans (dont we?)

What do you guys think?

BTW, I paid 2600 for my 20" DVS Wheels with Falken 255-35-20 tires-brand new.

yea i kno these rims are crap...never again will i buy cheap stuff,
i say 3,000 - 3,500 is a normal range to spend on wheels it self. However when tires come into play....be prepaired to shell out a good 4gs for tires and rims. Tires are just so damn expensive!!!

I would say $4K is average for decent wheels and tires for decent 20's...

No offense (I'm not rippin' on you personally, just the wheels), but DVS wheels are well...uh...crap...to say the least... ...$2600 with tires is about right for that setup though...(though they should be paying you $2600 to put those on...)

They are the same company that designed these hideous wheels...

Oh, and look at these "dope" wheels......

And these bad boys...in 16x7 baby...everything that DVS/Omega makes is in chrome or chrome/gold...that alone says volumes...(see what I mean by wanna-be-player-pimps and chrome?)

Bad taste knows no limits apparently...

Here's another one...

WTF? People actually pay money for these? "When people with money think they have taste"...new reality TV show...oh wait, it's called MTV Cribs...(ok, not everyone on that show has bad taste...but most of them do...)

Manaray,

I thought that was what the BLING was all about???? We should photochop those onto a GS for kicks.... that is just hideous and could not agree with your opinion more. Why do people purchase nice cars to put on cheap rims?

If you think anything over 3 grand is too much for 20's, then your not going to be buying a set of quality 20" wheels!! In my opinion, If your driving a Lex, then put some Lex quality wheels on the car.

Ill be honest with you guys, I think the price you pay for your wheel is completely irrelevant. Who cares? Granted im not heading off to pep boys to grab a set of 20" Primes or Ultras, but who cares what the name on your wheel is?

It like I have always said about fake rolexs, the ones that are impressed by you having a rolex, are the ones who dont know its fake, those who know its fake, wouldnt care if you were wearing a real one....

Isnt the REAL point coming out of the house and seeing a car YOU think looks sexy?
