Need help with tire size on IS 250 AWD !

For reference I ran 245/40/18 on OEM G Spider wheels. You'll have to look up offset as I don't know it. The installer said 8.5" wheels would have rubbed on the front so I used 8" on all four.

If the offset is the same I would say they won't fit. I never actually tried 8.5" but the 8" were very close to the control arm with a 245 tire. Why are you looking at such wide wheels? My Corvette has 9.5" on the front with 275mm tires.

Not sure about rim fitment, but the best way to tell is a trial fit (obviously). The tire size is a bit narrow though, they will look pretty stretched on a 9.5" rim, not to mention the shop will probably need a blaster to get them to seat.

With AWD, I would be careful to keep the height of the front and rear tires the same. Not sure what the optimal staggered set up would be for your car, but the rear tires you mention are 0.8" taller than the front. 235/40/18 front would be nearly the same height as a 265/35/18.

If I had same size wheels on all four corners then I would go with the same size tires. You can then rotate your tires and get better wear out of them. Just wanted to point out the need to be careful when putting a different size tire on the front and rear on an AWD, as it can hurt the drivetrain with the front and rear tires rotating at different speeds. On a 9.5" rim-I highly doubt that will work. And yes, all four need to be exactly the same height, staggered tires will work but they cannot all be 35-series if they're different widths. I'd go with a 265 or 275/35, but so you're aware-that's a pretty wide tire for such a small car, you may notice it following ruts in the road, or having heavier steering than you're used to. Personally I think those rims are way too wide.
