Default What tires should I buy? (06 IS250)

I have a 2006 lexus is250 with stock 18 inch wheels and my front tires are negative cambered a bit from my H&R springs. I have sumitomo tires right now and my front tires are 225's (I think), and 255's at the back. What do you guys recommend I buy that are a long lasting non expensive tires? I might be able to get some nito's for my rear tires from my dads GTO, What do you guys think?

If your two criteria for choosing tires are cheap and long lasting it doesn't make much difference what brand, model, etc you buy.

Buy the tire with the longest treadwear warranty that you are willing to pay for, and buy them from a place from a good reputation that will honor the treadwear warranty.

Achillies ATR sports. They are an all season tire thats about 85+ at tire (depending on where you get it.) I got a full set of 4 on sale for $300 last month. I just put them on my 250 AWD. I had them on 2 of my hondas before and an AUDI quattro before and they never left me stranded at anytime of the year (in snow) and perform well in the rain. A 400 AAA tread rating so it will LAST. They have a really THICK tread!

only down side is that they dont come in 255. it jumps from 245/18 to 265/18 according to their website.

Those sound amazing but I need all 4 which kinda is a bummer. I dont really need to worry about snow much since I live in south FL haha =D but ill keep looking around. 100 per tire sounds about my price range.

If you have a RWD, then 225/18 and 245/18 would work just as fine. I order all the time from Tire-easy.com and they have the 245/18's for $78 a tire +ship. Every time i order from them, it comes with in 2-3 days

You can put a 265 on the stock rear...I had a 275 which was a bit much, but a 265 would look nice and beefy...

is 265 the width? that is the only thing i do not like about my tires is that they dont look very wide on the back, pretty sure they were 255's. for the op's question, I bought khumo ecstas from tirerack.com for 550 shipped to my house, then paid ntb 40 bucks cash to mount and balance. they were the cheapest tires on the site at the time that had a good rating, and i frekin love them! nothing special, not shiny or glossy, but they grip good, and they last long. Cant go wrong if money is tight.

only buy the tires recommended for the IS from Lexus. Call the dealer and ask them what tires they recommend and them find the exact match at a lower price at other stores. LEXUS will price match anybody on tires.

I've never heard that before. Crown Lexus in Ontario CA certainly won't match the lowest price out there. Doubt if many dealers will.

Regarding economical but good tires for the IS, I like the Kumho Ecsta 4X all-season tires.

Default its true, Lexus service advisor told me so. they don't want to get into

a she said/ he said situation between tires and alignment. to prevent it, they prefer to sell you the tires and align the car. so they price match the tires they recommend. i'm gonna go for it next time i need tires. if they had told me before i would have done it.

I dont know if I agree 100%. Some of it YES but not all. You can call them for recommended tires for your car Buy tire size recommended YES but not every dealer recommendation meets individual needs. Most tires sold by dealers are "All Seasons" but its never top of the line all seasons. They sell tires that are best for comfort, not so much performance. You wont ever find nitto Nt05's at a dealer or even dedicated studded winter tires. Plus MOST dealers aren't tire shops so they only sell tires by companies contracted with them, not all their tires best suited for consumers needs
