Cheapest place to get good tires? Tire comparison Q's
I'm in need of new tires, although I won't be buying then until spring as ill use my snow tires in the winter, I've got Bridgestone potenzas on now and that's what came with the car when I bought it, so I have nothing to compare them to, I care about performance but I'm not out to get an all out performance tire just wondering what other people have had and their experience with handling quietness etc.. Thank you

What characteristics do you desire in a tire?
So. Cal doesn't get the snow and freezing temps so summer tires are my choice. Not the quietest compared to an all season. The traction-handling capabilities are my priority followed by a combination of longevity and price.
Without knowing your wheel specs, read up on the Yokohama S-drives. I liked this tire on ours. Handled well, good ride qualities, modestly quiet and went to 42K miles. Currently on Continental DW at 12K miles and these are excellent. Due to the asymmetric design these can't be flipped when the camber wear comes on. I project these may be replaced ~30K miles.

I do want something sporty that handles well, I have snow tires for the winter so I'd just be switching off, but I wouldn't say a complete all out high performance tire, just something that performance wise is above average, and modestly quiet, tirerack.com seems to sell much cheaper than the local shops by my house

I would check your local shops first as they may actually be cheaper than the online wholesalers after you factor in shipping and installation. If you choose to shop online then I would go with Discount Tire since they have free shipping.
