Wouldn't be a bad idea. Where is it? on the sidewall or on the tread? I remember driving with one on my sidewall for a while. It was stupid of me.

I never heard anybody mention Belt Parkway as the Belt Expressway..anyway what exactly were you? I know there is an annoying dip on the right and middle lanes right after 14th Ave exit on the eastbound side. It makes the whole car dip and bounce back. Very annoying.

Hope everything works out for you.

Yes you should replace it as soon as possible. Your tire is damaged. It is not safe.

Two special words for this kind of reply...

POP!!!

CRASH!!!

Replace it. You damaged the tire and now it has a serious weak spot. Do not risk the car and especially do not risk your health and/or the health of others.

Change it. That is called a titty. I've had numerous ones. They will pop. They get bigger and bigger over time. Mine popped at 100mph, left rear, and nothing happen. If it's a front wheel I would really change it quick. Throw on your spare or something.

Another thing is to change tires in pairs. You do not want uneven traction especially on the fronts.

Good point Hersoma. Buy two tires and rotate the new ones to the front.

hmm....i need to buy two new tires? oh *@(#...I'm unemployed and I'm a college student! GOING BROKE!!

I can't rotate the rear wheels to the front because they are not the same size

I have a 18x8 front and 18x9 set up...

what would happen if I had uneven traction?? Because I dont wanna spend 300 on tires..

those tires I have now have 7.000 miles on them..

Hot SC -

"Umemployed and College Student" but driving a hot SC! - man, when I was in college, I was luck to have enough money to take the bus. It sounds like you have it pretty rough there.

Anyway, you should still be under warranty with only 7000 miles. Check out the manufacturer's website for more details. Usually, on high performance tires, they will give you credit for percentage of wear left within a certain amount of time since the purchase date

They are Dunlop SP....

Yes I'm pretty spoiled considering that I'm the only child..

I checked the warranty and it said that it doesnt cover any damages that is caused by the roads..

I believe that is including pot holes...

I will call tire rack to confirm this...

Thanks for the heads up

I called Tire Rack and they have confirmed that the Dunlop Warranty does not cover road hazards of any kind..

They are willing to replace the tire at 50% within 3 months of purchase. Unfortunately, I brought these tires in May of 2002..

However, they were friendly enough to offer me a 20% discount on a new tire..

Thanks for the help guys!

That is an awesome deal. Perhaps next time you can call it a defect and that IS covered? I would run with the 20% off since Tirerack already has outrageous deals.
