This will sound like a weird fitment question but...
How well would 15x10 wheels with 5" backspacing and 295/50/R15 Tires fit on the back of my 400?

26.6" diameter, 0 offset and 295 width won't fit without some serious fender mods, for sure...

For comparison, without running silly amounts of negative camber, on my old car 295/30-19's rubbed slightly with rolled fenders, -1.5 degrees camber and +35 offset wheel... Your fitment will be 3/4 an inch larger diameter and stick out an inch and a half farther than mine...

What are you trying to do? most 295/50-15 tires are terrible and designed for old school muscle cars with low speed ratings

That's weird that I'd need major modification to my fender then since my current wheels in the rear are 16"x10" with 245/45/16 and they're nowhere near being close to touching fender, or anything else for that matter.

Let's walk through why... It isn't the wheel size so much as the off set and tire size... Most all Lexus vehicles run somewhere around +50 offset from the factory, common aftermarket offsets are around +35... So, without knowing the backspacing of your current 16*10, let's say its +35. That means a 15*10 with a 5" backspace which Is in effect a 0 offset, already sits almost an inch and a half outwards from your current wheel. Then, add a tire that is another two inches wider and also 2 inches larger in diameter than you are currently running and you are bound for issues... Change the offset back to +35 or 40 and you st least have a chance, this would be about a 6.75" backspace... From the outside sidewall of your current tire, measure straight out 2.5" and that is close to where your proposed figment would sit...
