CHROME IS MANDATORY,....
unless your car is silver or you have stock wheels....
and even then,... it may still be mandatory!!!!
Anything else, simply is just not civilized!

I think It depends upon the wheel, car and your taste whether it be chrome or polish. These days you find that chrome sometimes only looks good on true luxury cars. Polished or black are geared more to sport cars. You can still use chrome for sport cars, but it will be hard to find the right one that's suitable.

Well, IMO, Chrome on Quality wheels does look good on Lexus cars. Like AMG Hammers look good on all Benz's. However, I had chrome back in 1997 and intially on the GS and well, it attracts too much attention for me. I really like the diamond cut finish of my Weds. I think from now on, it's polished or diamond cut for me. Nowadays, they cot CHROME any rims on ANY car or truck and it looks horrible. Like going in someone's house and the interior furishings and drapes and appliances do not match.

is chrome in or out?
LOL.... Now you guys have me thinking. I like the way chrome looks on a car, but you just have to keep them very clean. I would perfer chrome, it gives a flashy look. I understand chrome is put on any and everything, but you have to remember everyone like their cars to look nice.

Loves Snickerdoodles!
I think...
In my opinion I thinkl chrome detracts too much from the car. I'd rather have a cnc machined/brush finish or high polish.
Just my 2 cents!

reason why I'm anti-anything-other than chrome!
I've had polished, silver, and chrome wheels,...and this is what I've found...
Polished wheels need "polishing" far more often than I'd like to ever do,... wheel polish and buff, per wheel,... to only look 1/2 as shiny as chrome on a good day, and truly unappealing when dirty,..
Silver wheels,... I like them on silver cars,...but look to much like a stock wheel,...and that's an insult when you've spent 4 Grand on some Blitz or Antera's and someone can't tell the difference of whether it came that way, or you got some different factory wheels. Then when brake dust accumulates on a silver wheel,...you get splotches that look horrible as you roll, and if the clear coat wears off anywhere,....you get stained wheels that you can't really totally get that dust out,...
Chrome,....I don't think it takes away from the car, but actually brings more attention to the car. When a chrome wheel is spinning at nite, and you can see all the colors of the surrounding reflecting in/out of the wheel, and patterns the contour of the wheel makes by way of the reflectiveness of chrome,...that is truly awesome,...unless it's a ghetto wheel,... then you get a deduct for that,...but race design wheels in chrome,...I don't think there's anything better. Most importanly, I can take a nice soft rag, and all foreign dust and debris is off in a matter of sec's!! No scrub and polish routine!
Chrome makes me happy!!

Couldn't have said it better. I got a friend with a CL500 with sliver rims. Some Giovannas. Some one said "A those factory  wheels look tight, I seen them on another Benz"
A good quality Chrome wheel cannot be mistaking for factory.
