+48 Offset
Ladies/Gents,
I have no experience with +48's before, and was just wondering on your fitment thoughts:

Was looking to run a 235/40 with it, but that +48 keeps throwing me for a loop. Odd that the next step up is the x9.5 with a +20. Thanks!

I notice that 0 offset fits in the front and +20 fits in the rear for the SC, I don't think it should have many issues varying from different widths of the wheels. If anything some roll and camber will help fit it just fine.

Try posting/searching in the wheel thread to find your answer.

And Im pretty sure that a 9.5'' +48, your going to be sunk..but Im no offset guru, hence CL has the thread above.

Find a rim width and offset that needs atleast a roll and get your tire width as close to the rim width as possible, or slightly smaller to avoid needing spacers or having a sunken ship.
But sorry, the suggestion that a +50 will work, is the exact reason the wheel/tire fitment thread exists. While a +50 will work, it wont look good cause they will still be sunk inside the fender.
For example, my old TT setup:
You can see front and rear, they are still not close to the fenders, so no +50 is not worth the money for aftermarket wheels. You can get better fitment and a more aggressive look with a lower offset.

with an 8.5'' rim, even a 20 offset is going to be slightly sunk in. Notice on the chart, that an 8.5 with a 19 offset still needs no fender mod. Shoot for a 9.5 +38 or 36 and a slight roll.
Now like I said, I am no offset guru, just basing this off the chart above and my previous experience with a set of TT wheels.

First off, all the responses are from SC owners, I assume you are fitting for an SC. Simple answer is yes, the 50 offset will fit just fine, it really depends on what you want the fitment to look like. Many have already said it will be sunken and really similar to TT wheel fitment. Depending how aggressive you want to go, I would recommend running around a 30 offset. With a modest drop and correct suspension geometry you should not have to modify your front fenders. With the 30 offset, your effective fitment should be similar to the images below.
The attached images show my front fitment only, rears are entirely different, without fender modifications, lowered to about a finger gap.
Professors: 18 x 9 et 37 245/40/18's
Classics: 18 x 10 et 45 285/30/18's a tad bit more aggressive than the Professors.
It will be less sunken compared to the 50. The closer you are to 0 and away from 0 on the negative side will result in a more aggressive fitment, less sunken.

I really appreciate all the replies here, thank you! I was a little curious on why they only sold the 8.5's in a +48. I guess I'll have to do some poking around and consider moving up to the 9 inch.
