Let me guess... By Design? Very nice! That's the new 19 x 4.0" outer lip on the rear.
Too bad they installed the wheels spinnning the 'wrong' direction (the 542 and 542R are true directional wheels).

Why is that the wrong direction?
Does it affect how they look when they spin or are you saying they should twist the same direction as the stock wheels?

I agree, that looks backwards. Killer car and nice rims. But I think they may be heading the wrong direction. Makes the car look like it is going backwards while standing still

Aerodynamically, there's nothing wrong with the way they are- it's just a matter of personal taste.
The OE Porsche Turbo wheels are actually not a true directional wheel- they look backwards to me on the driver's side (left side here in the U.S.) and correct on the passenger (right) side. Check it out next time you see a Turbo 996... guess I'm just a stickler for details.

SoCal, are you saying that the spokes on a set(all four) of HRE 542's will all be "leaning" the same diresction? (Thats the way it should be!)

HRE WHEELS
Even with all the flak Corvette gets for being cheap, crude, plastic, etc. etc., their turbo style wheels were directional so they looked and worked the same on both sides. It's all about money, so it seems odd that Porsche doesn't do it.

HRE "Direction"
For the Second time - Are you absolutely Sure?! that this wheel looks the same on both sides?? Spinning in the same Direction?????
If So, Hook me Up! I'm gonna be First GS to have it!!!!!
The only reservation I had about getting it was most Blade wheels go forward one side and backwards the other side.. Very Tacky if I might add!!!
Can I get a price on them.. 19X8.5 all the way around.???
Thanks,
QWK

Hey dude..
I don't really agree.. My first set of Rims was Racing Hart C5's 19X8 in front and 19X10 in the rear (Staggerd look) Yes Its Cool! And it looks great!
Two Draw backs - (1) is When you look at the Deeper Wheel- Sometimes from Angles it looks Smaller.. I don;t like.
(2) is You can't Rotate your tires - and you know how much them tires cost..
And Truley- I like the Rims with the Lips! But I also like the Rim to be as Flush to the tire as possible as it makes the Rims look bigger.. You notice when you look at 19's (with Lips) most of them look like 18's
I have 19's Volk AV3's with a 3/4 Lip and it looks Great and it Looks near a "19" In perspective..close enough "18.5" - 19's won't be 19's unless you go for the wheels that the spoke touches the tires!
No!! I'm not going to get 20's so they'll look like 19's.. Hell No...
Something to think about..
