Just ordered some 17x8 wheels for my 99 gs400 and Im looking at tires.

I was thinking of getting 255's in the rear and 235's in the front.


Will I have problems putting 255's on an 8in rim?

What do you guys recommend for sizes?

255 is kind of in between sizes but may still work. You could do 235/45R17 or 245/35R17 all around or any combination for a staggered sizes. If you had a wider wheel you could do 265/40R17 in the rear, but with the 255 the 45 series is too tall and the 40 series is too short.

If you were running 17x8 all around on a gs400 what would you do. I really like how the 255's look in the rear.

Well, if you like the look of 255 do 255/45 rear because it's better to be too tall than too short in the rear. But again taller than we recommend so I can not guarantee there will be no issues using this size. Otherwise, do 235 front and 245 rear to have zero problems.
