Wheel guru's, yes that means GS4will n Manaray
If u can, give me the actual specs on what is the best size rim, width, and offset for a GS4. Also best tire to reduce noise and possible dents due to thin tire. I'm in the market, but i wanna make sure I buy something that fits, I don't want to roll the fenders.
I dont mind having a fat set-up w/ the tire, I wanna drive comfortably(as much as I can considering the size of the rim).
Please give me an idea, w/ a 19" or 20", and yes wider in the back(staggered is what I think u guys call it)...
thanks...

Peter @ Wheel Experts is also very, very knowledgable...don't leave him out!
No in addition to what Will said...
On the rear, you can also do a 19" or 20" x 10" with a +42 offset. I haven't pushed the limits on a 10" wide setup but I know a +42 will work and depending on the tire, you can probably push it out a little more (like +40). Also, depending on the wheel design, you can go down to +47 if need be.
On the front, you can also do a 19" or 20" x 9". Again, +42 or so should be good....I wouldn't go much deeper than that...you'll start getting too close to the suspension upright...
And don't forget about brake clearance if you have a big brake kit (well, except for the Wilwood 6-piston setup I'm working on which will have the same caliper clearance needs as the stock caliper.) For those, you'll need a high disk setup...I recommend using a 8.5" wide wheel with a +38 just to be safe...
If you want a comfortable ride and some extra rim protection, the 19" Fat setup is the way to go...ask Cerberus about it...he has that exact setup (and someone else with a GS has it too...I can't remember his name). I'm also going to do this on my SC400.
For that setup, a 19x10 rear is perfect if you're going to use a meaty tire like the S-03...Which, BTW, with the fat setup, you're rather limited to your tire choices but the S-03 is available and that's the tire I'd run anyways...Pirelli is your other choice...but personally, I think Pirelli's SUCK.
Front Wheel - 19x8.5 (+38 to +45) or 19x9 (+42)
Front Tire - 245/40-19
Rear Wheel - 19x10 (+42 to +47)
Rear Tire - 275/35-19
It's best to pick out a wheel and then look to see what's available. If you pick a decent wheel from decent company, chances are they will have a decent setup for your car.

If so, how much, if any, lowering can you do?

On the SC, I have heard that you can not only use GS sizing but you can actually do a little more...
Now that I have an SC, I'm trying on wheels as I come across them to see how they work out...
I tried on Cerberus's Weds...19x8.5 +41 High Disk with a 245/40-19....from the looks of it, it looks at those with that tire (Bridgestone S-03), it's pretty damn close to rubbing (when the wheel is straight).
One of these days, I'll put on my HRE 543's (20x8.5 +38 High Disk with a 245/35-20 Nitto NT555R) on my SC to see how that fits...
Bob over at HRE says a 19x9 +35 with a 245/35-19 will work fine!
I haven't done any real testing on the rear but Bob says a 19x10 +35 with a 275/30-19 should work...so anything under that should be good...

Well running the Fat 19" setup is the same as running a standard 20" setup...that would mean that with 20's on the SC, I might have to run a more conservative offset up front...I'm going to try my GS's 20's (20x8.5 +38 with a 245/35-20) on my SC to see how that works...

On my SC4, I think I'll run 20x9 255/35-20 and 20x10.5 285/30-20. Based on my current 19" set-up, if I kept the same frontspacng I would run +35 front and +41 rear.
The GS can't really handle offsets this aggressive unless you roll the crap out of the fenders.

you should be able to do the same drop as on 20's...I'm going to do the same setup as my GS in terms of drop...rear tire will be just bearly tucked and the front will have like a 1/4" up front...

My Fat Setup...
I just put on a fat 19 and I'm getting rear tire rub. Fronts are fine.. here's my setup:
Zauber Gettin
19x10+41 19x8.5 +43
SO3 275/35/19 245/40/19
L-Tuned Drop.
I'm about to mod... to roll or cut? How much you guys think I need to trim?
