Wink Advice on best tire for '99 GS300

I've been reading good reviews about the Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S [V], but wanted some feedback from '99 GS300 owners to see which tire they'd recommend.

Thanks

what tires have you owned before and what did you like/dislike about them?

what are you looking for in a tire?

the size of tire also has an effect on what will be available for you, what size is currently on your vehicle, and, is that the correct size for your car? You can find proper sizing, assuming OEM wheels, on the sticker inside the drivers door...

Talking Tire recommendations for '99 GS300

What I'm looking for is an all-season high performance tire that excels in dry/wet handling and breaking conditions, while also handling the performance and road manners of my '99 GS300, that's also quiet and durable.

I live in the Washington, DC metro area, which does get snow, so an all-season tire is necessary.

Current Size: 215/60R16 and current tire is the Dunlop SP Sport 5000

Thanks for the assistance.

In that size, you have a few really good options...

the Michelin Exalto A/S is a great choice, but there are some other good options as well... It would appear, based on your original tire selection that you are willing to pay a little more for a better tire, which is good... In that size, there are 4 tires that get good ratings and would meet your needs well...

Michelin Exalto A/S
Michelin MXV4
Bridgestone Serenity
Bridgestone Ecopia

Ecopia is more of a touring tire, but has the right speed rating and is a low rolling resistance tire, priced at $110 a tire through TR. The Serenity is a very good performing tire, IMO, the best of the bunch here, at $137. The Exalto A/S and MXV4 are both great offerings from Michelin as well, at $129 and $155, respectively...

I only include the Ecopia because I have driven it and know it performs relatively well, while still meeting the rest of your needs, but the Serenity and MXV4 are the better two tires out of the 4 listed, the Exalto being somewhere between the Ecopia and the other pair... No one else has a tire that really stands out in that size for what you are looking for... Goodyear Assurance Comfortred is more of a touring tire, more similar to the Ecopia, but not a low rolling resistance tire, and the other Goodyear, the Eagle GT gets pretty low ratings in comparison to the ones listed above. Yokohama's are decent, but lower ratings and similar prices as the above 4. Everything else in the size has worse ratings, so I don't feel I even need to mention them...

If you're looking for a performance tire the Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S is one of the best out there. These have been out for a couple years now and have always been at the top of our survey results. Take a look at the results:
