Default Increase Tires size on OE Wheels?

My 450h is running on 235/55/19 so I guess it is 19x7.5" wheel. Can I increase the tire size to, say 255/55/19 (+3% different) OR 245/55/19 (+1.5% different)? Is it safe to do so? I know another option is to buy a new set of wheels as well but I love the OE wheels though.

Your advice, please. Thanks.

My first question would be "Why?" Espcially on an SUV/CUV. Without adjusting your wheel size can make it difficult to judge rubbing which may take place on full rotation of the steering wheel on an occassional traffic light turn as well as full compression of the suspension due to a "DIP AHEAD" sign.

You can go to tire rack, or other sources which offer online and live help, who might be able to answer your question.

I just like the look of the "fatter' tires. Discount tires shows these sizes in their "Plus Zero" section.

Tires and Wheels experts please comment.

mentioned it in the other thread, will be fine... hardly any real difference in diameter and there should be plenty of room, especially if it is listed on their site as fitting...

both those sizes are just fine on a 7.5" wheel as well...

The Tire Rack recommends 255/50R19 this is 29.0" tall, your stock tire is 29.1" tall. The 245/55R19 is 29.6" tall and actually more than 1.5% off. The closer more precise choice would be 255/50R19.
