Default New (quality?) knock off company....any info?

can anyone shed some light on this company?

http://www.mayawheels.com/wheels.asp

they have clones of some killer designs... and seem to be using dazz as an importer.

i just got off the phone with them and altho i dont completely understand the situation, here it is. it seems trafficstar/riverside was having various problems (they didnt go intop detail) importing these designs to the US. so maya was created... apparently these wheels are still being produced by riverside in japan, but brought over into the US rebadged as maya (kinda like toyota/lexus).

personally i wouldnt have a problem running these wheels on my car, as they arent technically knock offs. i actually view this company as a good thing... theyre making quality japanese multi piece wheels more easily accessible.

just a theory...
lowenhart might be letting them use this design to give them some sort of credibility. also, the wheel youre talking about only seems to be offered in 24" by lowenhart. maya offers 18 and 19" fitments.

the MAYA wheels are indeed rebadged trafficstars, and the 6 spoke is a Euro Hart TT6. They will make their official US debut at SEMA, with the DTM and DTS coming in up to 20" sizes.

Yeah...like Peter said, just relabeled...

I really like the STM actually...but I would want the original Riverside/Trafficstar centercaps though...

The Trafficstars are priced pretty low too...well at least in Japan...I don't know what kind of crazy market Dazz is going to put on 'em...

I fell in love with STM's the first time I saw them. Internet retailers are selling them very reasonably (considering they are light-weight 3-piece quality wheels). I was quoted $2150+$150 shipping for 4 Maya STM 18x9's.
