Default Question on Thin Wall Sockets....

I recently purchased a set of thin walled sockets from Amazon so i can take my wheels off but unfortunately the plastic sheath is touching the sides of the lug nut hole and i'm afraid of scratching the wheels.

I bought a set of the Chicago Pneumatic 3 piece set.. There very nice but i need something thinner..

Is this possible? I could take the plastic sheath off but than i risk scratching the wheel even more...

Any ideas?

Thanks...

I have a similar set from Griot's Garage and they don't scratch my wheels but my lug nuts. After a few times my $135 Rays look like garbage.

Best way to do it, regardless, (and I've done this with thousands of sets of wheels), is to buy a very small diameter lug/locking set like the Gorilla tuner lugs... this will come with an even smaller diameter socket that will be the best way to prevent scratching the lug holes on the wheels...

I guess this would be the correct size?

I got new ones put on when i got my Vossens.. Not sure the size?
