Default Tire Help - going for beefier tires...

Hi Guys - well I decided to take the plunge and start modding my 06 IS350. First order of business is 19" rims and coilovers. I'm going with Forgestar F05s in 19x8.5f +35 and 19x10r +42. Seems like a lot of people go with 225/35/19 or 235/35/19 up front and 265/35/19 out back.

I'd like to drop the front so that there's just a 1 finger gap between the bottom of the fender and top of the tire - so not a widely aggressive drop. With a +35 offset (which is somewhat conservative, I think) can I run 245/35/19s in front without rubbing or fender mods? If so, can I run 275/35/19 in back with +42 offset w/o rubbing or fender mods? The rear will probably be slightly tucked so I don't end up with a rake (i.e., so the car remains level after the drop).

TIA

Mike

These sizes will require some fender modifications, probably pull fenders and reshape inner liners but I can't advise to the extent of modifications needed. 245 and 275 are just too wide for the stock setup. If you lower the vehicle to a "1 finger gap between the bottom of the fender and top of the tire", think of how little suspension travel that will leave you, this will make for a very stiff ride.

OK, thanks for your input Zig. i am looking for improved handling, but maintaining a somewhat comfortable ride. what do you recommend as the ideal front and rear tire sizes for what I'm trying to do? 225/35/19f and 265/30/19r?

225/35R19 will be ok in the front but the rear in 265/35R19 will be very difficult with zero modifications. 255/35R19 would be the ideal fit for the rear without modifying anything.

i dont have many pics of my is250. you can check the garage in my profile. i had 235 in the front with slight rubbing, 275 in the rear on 19x10 +45 with zero problems.
tires were bridgestone re750.
