Default Tires- Hankook Ventus v12 vs anyone else...?

I'm getting some 19's for my is350 and felt like i have been dead set on getting some hankook ventus v12 tires but want to make sure they're the best option for the price. From what i've read, the ventus have a great lifespan, good traction, and are QUIET! For the price, are there any other tires that are comparable? Where do you guys buy your tires- cheapest place?

Thanks for the help

Good choice! I have them on my z. They cost me $750 balanced and installed. Only have about 500 miles on them but I can tell you they are quiet and grip is very good.

Don't forget the $80 rebate card. I bought my set at the beginning of the year and the rebate was only $60. Better than nothing, I suppose.

Is hankook k110 v12 the same thing as ventus?

What would be a good price for a set of these at 225/35/19 , and 265/30/19?

Also, if you buy these in 19" and previously own 18" stock, do you buy 1 more as spare tire in your trunk ?

For me, a spare wheel is just that: a spare. I don't plan to have it on the car longer than it needs to be. If the 18s still fit your car (e.g. no BBK that will require different fitment), then get an appropriately spec'ed 18 tire. If you want to go all out and have a spare 19 of the same wheel, then get tires for the 19s. If the tire on the spare 18s are still good, just use that. It won't kill you to have a different tire on one corner. Just drive appropriately until you get the main wheel back.

Thanks Neo. I have no brake mod and the spare wheel + tire is stock, as well. So am I right to say that it's ok to drive with three 19" wheels and tires, plus one stock spare wheel and tire (I assume the spare is 18")?

In our track testing and road drive I liked the Hankook overall, I thought the tire was "good" at everything but not particularly "great" at any one thing. Which, in the tire industry is pretty significant because sometimes if a tire is really good at one particular thing it will sacrifice in other areas. Like for instance a tire which has impressive dry road grip usually wears quicker than other tires. So with all of the give and take that goes into a max performance summer tire, the Hankook is very well balanced and does "good" in about anything you can throw at it. I know one of the biggest things I hear customers say they like is the longer tread life, so while there are similarly priced tires in the max performance tire category the Hankook Ventus V12 is a great choice to compliment a sporty vehicle which is not particularly driven to its limits. Take a look at some of test results and videos of the tire testing for more info.
