Default Best tires all season 17x8 for 400

Wanted to see if someone could tell me the best tires to put on my 92 sc400 for all seasons. Just bought a new pair of 2001 is300 wheels that are I believe 17x8. Finally upgraded my wheels & now need 2 know what is the best tire for this wheel going on my sc. I need to find out to be able to purchase some used tires on the cheap. I want to make sure their is no rubbing and that they look appropriate to the car. Previous wheels as u may know were the stock 16's & that 2 me was the only thing wrong with the design. New ones will look great, look--Best tires all season 17x8 for 400-img_0011.jpg Anyways someone help me get some great sized tires for these new wheels. Thanks a lot

Recently had a set of Kumho Ecsta ASX installed on a newer Nissan Maxima. Good all around all season tire. I did 225/55/17, but I'm sure you could go wider....Cost was $100 each from Tire Rack. (not including mount / balance/nitrogen).

The car and the wheel can do 235/45R17 or 245/45R17. Kumho has the new Ecsta 4X at a pretty good price, and right now there is a $50 rebate. The Tire Rack just did testing on this tire over the summer and it ranked 1st out of the test group.

IS300 wheels are 17x7... 235/45-17 is actually wider than is recommended for that wheel... it works, as that is what I have in Bridgestone Potenza RE960A/S... Any wider would not be right on the wheel, for sure...

the rear Sportcross wheel is 17x7.5 for reference

Are 2 wheels different size than the front? Wheels came off a 2001 is300. If not just want to make sure that they will not rub on the sc400. Also trying to buy used off craigslist so I would not want to buy the wrong tire. Also want to make sure the tire looks appropriate to the car to accomodate the different wheel size. Only an 1" difference probably worrying to much. Thank You

All is300 sedans had 7" wide wheels all around... all wagons had 7.5" in the rear only...

They will fit an sc just fine... for an sc, I would recommend 225/50-17 or 235/45-17 on those wheels... 245/45 would be too wide for the wheel, 235/45 is pushing it as it is...

Well, I made the assumption that these were 17X8 wheels because you said they were in your initial post. I thought you already had the wheels and verified the size stamped on the back. But as Mitsuguy said if these are "stock" IS300 wheels these will be 7" wide and the 245/45R17 will be too wide for the wheel although on an 8" wide wheel, 245/45R17 would fit fine on the car. On a 7" wide wheel the 235/45R17 is not even recommended and the 225/50R17 is the only 100% fit. So, although you will be going up in wheel size you will have to stay really close to the stock width.
