Default Federal 595 Tires... any experience?

Hi all

I am thinking about a new set of 19" wheels and was wondering which tire set to get with them. Most vendors are shipping with Nexxen N3000 or Kumho V12.

So I wondered what else is available out that which are Aggressive looking, good grip dry/wet, reliable, good steering feel (sharp turn in) and I stumbled on to the Federal 595 shown below:

http://www.federaltire.com/en/html/p...pdline=1&ID=1#

Anybody have any experience with them on the IS or any other Lexus for that matter?

I would rather go with the Kuhmos. The Federal sidewalls are too soft...didn't last NY roads for me on my 19s.

Ha ha

One time I had Michelin PS2 and everything was good. Then I put on General Exclaims and rear started rubbing under load.

Why do the cheaper tires go wider?

I assume you mean Hankook V12, not Kumho?

and those (the V12s) are what I'd recommend

595's are great tires to stretch for stance game or burn when drifting.

not so good with grip.

How about the Nexen N3000? Are they decent? I just want good DD with nice grip dry/wet.

I recently had Federal 595SS put on my GS3 (235/45/17 94W). I got about 2500 miles on them so far and am quite happy with them. It's an inexpensive tire with a nice design. They run wide. They're atleast 0.5" wider than my previous tire which had the same dimension. I like this as it prevents accidental curb rash.

Performance in the dry is good. I have done some very spirited driving and they held up just fine. The sidewall is a bit soft for my liking, but it adds to the comfort. It's also a very quiet tire, I hope they won't get noisy down the road.

Performance in the wet isn't spectacular, you have to be careful when you put your foot down.

All in all, I think it's a decent tire, especially for the price. There are much better tires out there if you're willing to fork out the cash.

Next time I will be getting the 595 RSR. Now these rock!! I got them on another car and I absolutely loved them.
