Default Continental Extreme Contact DWS

Anybody use have experience with these tires? Ratings seem good on Tire Rack. Some of the reviews indicate they have pretty soft sidewalls and are prone to blowouts and bubbles.

I have hit many potholes with these and my rim was damaged on one but the tire was fine so the sidewalls don't seem too soft to me. I have about 3500 miles on them and they still are very quiet. My only complaint was they pulled the car to the right but that has abated a little bit. Either that or I'm just used to it now. They are great in the rain but I haven't had a chance to try them in snow yet.

i ordered a set recently, waiting to get them mounted and balanced. I wanted more comfort, but the soft sidewalls might cause me problems later since the Bay area is filled with pot holes

Got about 10,000 miles on the DWS on my 530i. They're OK but not as good as Michelins. Take the Tire Rack reviews with a pinch of salt - they're pretty meaningless.

They are very good all-season tires.

Which means they're inferior to good winter tires in snow... and inferior to good summer tires in all other conditions.

But if you're willing to settle for lower performance and braking in all weather conditions, they're among the best choices available.

I got some about two weeks ago. They seem good so far. Quiet as far as road noise and I like the tread pattern on them.

I was very impressed with wet weather performance (Driving friends car).
Far better grip than my Bridgestone AS960s I used at the time.

I agree. I just got a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports, and really like them.

I've ran these tires for the past 2 years and love them. They handle great for an all season tire and they are also great in the snow. IMO they are the best tire for the money. Michelins are great but way overpriced.

MY BFG KDWs have reinforced sidewalls. Perhaps something to consider.

I have these on my RDX - I would say they are pretty awesome in the snow. For regular driving they are OK. I don't know that I'd put them on my IS, but then again I don't bring my IS in the snow.

I think the point to remember is that that the snow portion is only good for part of the tire's life....so if I lived in an area that had a real winter (unlike SoCal), then I'd opt for 2 sets of tires...winter and summer. For me it makes no sense to have dedicated snows on the RDX when it only sees snow when we visit Mammoth..so therefore the DWS were a perfect match.

I went through two sets of these Conti extreme contact tires; don't know if mine has the DWS postfix. I absolutely do not recommend this manufacturer because they dishonestly advertised this tires has a much higher treadwear rate but I got only about 18,000 miles on normal usage.

I actually was looking for a class-action lawsuit against this manufacturer for deceptive advertisement but couldn't find any so I let it go.

I've been using Bridgestone Potenza tires ever since and have been very satisfied with its treadwear, noise and performance.
