19x9 wheel offsets...need help!
Hello guys, I am going to be ordering some 19x9 with either a +42 or +45 offset to compliment the 19x10 +45 wheels I currently have...haha. Well, I pretty much need to know where I stand with this...there is another thread open, but I need some more opinions, etc...I really really don't want to go with an 8" wide wheel! I just want the car to look "right" you know, etc etc...I plan on running 245/275 nitto tires...Argh, I wish Blitz made some half sizes!!!!

coilovers are going in tomorrow...I am sure that affects everything!!! I understand the wheels will be close to the suspension, but from what Blitz said it only affects the amount you can turn...

Mike,
On the front of the GS, coilovers will not affect wheel clearance: the coilover assembly sits behind the suspension upright.
The Lexus 'purists' would have you run as high an offset as possible. With a 9" wide wheel, however, anything higher than about +40 will likely rub the suspension upright (+42 might work, but I've never done it).
I would say, if you have the choice, go for +38 to +40 on a 9". If all you can get is +42, you might need to run a 3mm spacer to clear the upright. I think you're asking for trouble with the +45

So when can I start crying? Argh, this really really sucks! Will the +42 stick out past the fender? I just want to wheel to look right on the car, but this is not sounding to positive! Argh, why would they say this is the ideal set-up as far as their GS' go??? LOL, looks like before I waste more money on the fronts, I am going to try and sell the rears and start with a new wheel slate! This is really really aggrivating.
Thanks guys for the help!!!

No, no, +42 is further inboard than a +37. Higher offset = closer to suspension, lower offset = closer to fender
I looked at my bro's car again, and confirmed that 19x9 +42 (with a 245/35-19 tire) will just barely clear the suspension upright.
I don't feel very good about the +45 clearing the suspension, however.
The bottom line: 19x9 +37 through +42 will not stick out or foul the suspension components.

SoCalSC4 - Thanks bro! You don't understand how much of a help you have been! Well, you probably do, but anyway... +42 sounds good to me and like Blitz said, I can run a brake upgrade with that offset so I am happy!!! Ideally, I always wanted to run the +42, so not being able to use the +45 doesn't really matter. The only thing I was really worried about is the wheels sticking out past the fender with the +42. THANKS A TON!
