Default help please

i have a 98 GS300 with the rims of a 03 IS300.. according to the specs for IS300, my tire size are supposed to be 215/45/17... i dont like how it looks as it looks deflated. would i be able to switch to 225/45/17??

THANK YOU!!

Default your tires

IF you go to the online tire stores you chose to find tires for the 03 IS300, it will tell you if it will fit or not.. those tires should fit on the 03 is300 wheels.. it is wider soo i dunno how it will fit on the 98GS300 .. does it have a deep tire chamber ?? if soo it should be fine even with turning...

tire size is more based on the vehicle than the wheel... Obviously the wheel has an effect on what size tire you can use, however, the rest of the specs, such as overall diameter and load carrying are based on the vehicles requirements, not the wheels...

215/45-17 is the correct size for an IS300... It is too short and narrow, with a load carrying capacity likely to be exceeded by the bigger, heavier GS300... the proper size for your GS300 on 17" wheels is 235/45-17... These will fit on the IS300 wheels when mounted on your car without issue, and will give you back the correct load carrying capacity, make your speedometer accurate again, and handle better across the board...
