Default Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum - Touring Tires

I was wondering if this tire would be reappearing on Tirerack for the GS fitment?

245/40/18 is the size I would need on my '08 GS. I had seen these available before, just weren't sure if they discontinued in this size.

If they are disappearing and reappearing, I'd be careful of buying this size in that model. You don't want to have a flat and then realize you cannot buy one instead of two if the tires are still relatively new.

They aren't. Discount Tire Direct still lists them.

It's funny how tirerack labels them as Grand Touring, and DTD labels them as Ultra-High Performance.

Typically, I would believe Tirerack!

But as per Kumho's website they classify these as Ultra-High Performance.

Looks like DTD has it right. I wouldn't believe everything Tire Rack writes.

tire rack may list it as grand touring since they do the testing on their track & may believe the tire characteristics fall more in the grand touring category.

I just had a set installed Wednesday. I like them so far, they ride smooth and quiet. Haven't had a chance to test their handling so I can't speak on that point. However, they look nice with wide shoulder blocks. I picked them up at America's Tire which is the same Company as DTD.
