Widest tire on an 18x8
Can I fit a 265 on a 8" wide wheel, or is that too much of a stretch? Some people tell me 255 is the widest, others have said 265's will fit. Help!

Even a 245 is ideal for an 8.5.
Lexus puts the SC430 245/40-18 on an 18x8, and even that looks a bit 'bulged' to me. I would not go any wider than 255 for sure- some makes and models of tires will accept a 255 on an 8.0" wide rim- consult the tire manufacturer.
A 255/35-18 Toyo T1-S (for example) requires at least 18x8.5"
A taller 255/40-18 Toyo T1-S works on a minimum of 18x8.0"
