Default '06 IS with 265/35s?

...on the rear? Anyone think they will fit?

The originals are 255/40, but I am looking at getting some 265/35 - but not completely sure they will fit.

Any thoughts or experience?

Thanks

They will be a little bit shorter in diameter, but they will fit, although it wouldnt be recommended by any tire manufacturer. That would be the absolute max you could go on tire size.

FWIW some guys put 275/35/19's on stock G35 19x8.5" wheels. So yours would be a little less.

Thanks Zinik.

I've looked at some 265/35s and it says a Rim Width Gap of 9-11", and 8.5"s are what is on the back of my car (IS 250). Being just .5" off, I figured it would still fit.

A friend is giving me his 265/35s brand new off of his car, so I figured if they will fit than why not. I know it won't fit perfectly, but it's hard to turn down free 265/35s that are brand new.

To be honest, i've mounted 285/30/19's on a customers 8.5" wheel before and he has yet to have any problems with it. Albeit he had to sign a disclaimer, it was still done.

So you will be fine, and i definitely wouldn't turn down good free tires!
