Pilot Sport PS2 options
#2
There are 4 versions. There are Mercedes, Audi and BMW oem options and then there is the non-oem tire. The non oem tire is the normal one, the others are optimized for different things. I know the BMW one is optimized towards better wet handling at expense of dry handling. I don't know about the others.
When you order on tire rack it makes clear which tire is which.
Also (y) means 168+ rating whereas Y means just 168 mph. That difference is not meaningful to us.

I asked that question before. Basically there are different load options, etc. But mainly, it is just for different brands of car. I'll bet it make no difference in driving so I will choose the cheapest ones. I have pilot sport all season plus from costco.

Dong888 and Byprodrive are not correct about the load or the XL. The load rating on the tires you posted in the original post are all the same. They are all load 93. PS2s are also available with a 97 load, but that is not among the options you posted.
The only difference is the OEM customizations.

I just returned from having these installed (#918648). $1,440 out the door.
No surprise that they felt much stickier and more responsive than my Advan's with 20k on them, even with two kids and the standard trunkload of crap a trip to Costco induces.
What I was very surprised about was the much softer ride I had driving home, even with the extra weight. Basically, it felt like the ride I had with the Advans before I got my F-Sport springs. This is all based on a 5-mile trip home, so I'll have to take a more spirited solo trip later to further evaluate.
