Default URGENT: Need to confirm fitment for GS

Can you guys please give me some feedback about fitment for my GS4. The wheels I'm looking at have the following specs:

Diameter: 18"
Width: 9"
Offset: 40mm

Will this fit front/rear without any issues? No rubbing, etc? I haven't lowered my car yet, but I will probably go with l-tuned.

These wheels are closeouts - only a few left. I'm gonna place the order if you guys can confirm the fitment.

Thanks!

One more thing... the rims include centering rings. Do all rims require this? Is there a down side?

Thanks.

I think that would be pushing it.

From my research a 8.5" wheel with a +36 or +37 is going to be pretty maxed out with a 245 tire. You will definitely stick out more than that and I doubt you could run larger than a 245 tire so it (tire) would look kinda small.

Good luck.

I came up with an extra 2 mm outward.

I'm looking to put 245/40 Yokohama AVS dB on all four wheels. Just want to make sure this will work.

Enginyr's tires rubbed in the front...

So even a 245 might rub but it also depends on how low your car is...if you lower it to the point where the wheels will 'tuck' when you hit a bump, then you have to worry about it...however, if you are keeping it stock height, you probably won't rub often...

I called Tire Rack and they told me that the offset the stock GS 16x7.5 wheels is (+55). I pluged those numbers into the website you mentioned and got the following:

"The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 4mm LESS
The outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 34mm"

Since the overall wheel/tire diameter should be very close to stock, I'm thinking that this shouldn't cause any rubbing, right?

However, the width is much wider than stock, so rubbing may occur because the wheel is sticking too far out (curb side)?

I'm running 18x9 (+45) in front and it is a really tight squeeze on the suspension side of things. Given that you are running less positive offset you should be fine on the suspension side of things but you are really going to be close on the outside. I'm running with L-tuned suspension and have had no problems but like I said it's a +45 offset.

Is that 5 mm really going to make such a huge difference? Dunno, looking at it it seems like it should be fine but I'd believe the wheel gurus here who have actually tried it.

BTW: Altaf, your PM won't work and I couldn't email you. You might want to change those settings otherwise what's the point of PM'ing me?

Mr Johnson:

Thanks for the response. I just changed my email address and all of a sudden, my account stopped working? Just figured out that CL automatically sends an email to the new email address, and I had to reply back to that email before my account worked again!

Yes, rubbing on the outside might be a problem...

Manaray: I swear I was going to keep my mouth shut but then in the OZ vs. Weds thread I saw this:

most european wheels offer more limited size choices than jdm brands. on the rubbing issue, i have 18x9 +37, 1.4" drop for the front with no problem. but i will let guys with more knowledge and experience answer your question
from gs4will. Take this for what it's worth.
