HRE 640R's
Does anyone know what the maximum lip depth is on the 640R series (SUV series)? I know the 540R's are 3" max on the rear unless you have a Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc..., then you can get a 4" lip. Other wheel manufacturers offer deeper lips on their SUV applications (like Lowenhart- they offer 4"+ lips on their LD6 wheel). I was wondering if HRE offers this as well?

On the "R" type rims, outer rim parts are as follows (second number is the outer "depth"):
18x1.5"
18x2.0"
18x2.5"
18x3.0"
19x1.5"
19x2.0"
19x2.5"
19x3.0"
Tooling being completed for 19x4.0"
Tooling being created for 20x2.0"
20x2.5"
20x3.0"
20x3.5"
20x4.0"
22x3.5"
22x4.0"
24x4.0" finished, awaiting center disc forgings. Should be shippable mid-July.
The rims actually 'show' about 1/4" more depth than is indicated after they are assembled.
We measure the rim depth from the backside of the rims, so the dimensions are from the assembly flange to the rim bead (normally covered up by the tire). The overall dimensions of the rim pieces are 1/2" greater if you include the rim outer bead.
I don't have any data on the GX470 yet- the old LX470 had a spindle on the front hubs that prevented us from making ANY wheels for that truck. Let's hope Toyota/Lexus got smart and based the new truck's hubs on something closer to what the Tundra/Sequoia currently use!

Cool...Thanks SoCal! 24" HRE'swith a 4" reverse lip will look crazy on any truck that can take the fitment. I hope the new GX470 will be able to take HRE's. I'd like to keep it in the Lexus family. It's funny how I'm basing what SUV to buy based on what wheels will fit!
Will the entire 640R line be available in 24's?

Tell me about it, Peter!: Just took care of the SC430 and now I'm already talking about an SUV! Actually, my wife wants an SUV and likes how the new GX470 looks. She also likes the BMW X5 a lot (but it "only" takes 22's), so we'll see what happens. It would be great if the GX can take a 24" wheel. If not there are always 22" HRE's with a 4" lip!
