Most likely in the high 40s so if you are looking for something flush your going to need to install spacers or get some different wheels.

Correct. If a 18x8 wheel has say +50 offset and another 18x8 wheel has +25 offset the 18x8 +25 wheel will sit out 25mm (1") more than the 18x8 +50 wheel.

Does anyone know on a 8" wide wheel what the minimum amount of offset is required to clear the 99 LS400 brakes is?

I have seen people run g35 wheels which are 8" have around a +30 offset but I can't say for sure if yours will work. You could always just bolt one on real quick and check.

If they were 18x8 with +35 offset that should clear the calipers correct?

The offset really has little to do with caliper clearance , every wheel has a different spoke profile and curvature so clearance varies by design, not offset.

Hmmm true. These look like they curve out so they look like they may work.
