Well have you looked into the pricing for each tire? The toyo t1-r's are quite higher then the hankook v12's. I have a bunch of G35 friends that swear by the toyo t1-r's. I guess it all depends on what you need the tires for, tracking of just daily driving.

just for daily driving. the Toyo's are TOO much more expensive then the V12's.

My main concerin is comfort, (not so much that I would go with a grand touring tire though) - then performance.

I just put a set of V12's on my GS430 ( 305/25/20 and 255/30/20 ) and all I can say is that I'm very pleased - the tires are smooth and quiet, they also allowed near perfect balancing. The V12's replaced a set of Michelin PS2's and I will not be going back to the Michelins!

How about a competitor to the group, something I can't find a comparison on:

Toyo TR1 vs. Hankook Ventus V12 vs. Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta

lol, they would have to be steel tires.

I've had T1R's on my Lexus since April so far, so good.

But I will put the Hankooks on the Mercedes this year.

I've had both tires, the T1-R were absolutely awesome in dry conditions but terrible in the rain and wore a lot faster. I currently have a set of the Ventus that need to be replaced but I got 45,000 miles out of them, 245/40/20, better in wet conditions than the T1-R. For the money I would go with the Ventus.

I want to replace my current Ventus with the Continental Extreme Contact DWS for better wet traction, I do live in Washington.

Scruffdogg,

How many miles did you get out of the T1-R. I just got them on my wifes RX and love them.
