Question Urgent Wheel Help!

I am not exactly sure what my budget is yet. Whatever my insurance company gives me for new tires and rims plus I am willing to spend about a thousand out of my pocket.

Requirements: (2001 Silver GS430)

I like the 5 or 6 spoke look including the split (SSR GT3 and GT1)

No Chrome (polished would be prefered)

18 or 19" (19x8.5 w/245 and 19x 9.5 w/275 would be nice)

Light weight rims (something that would be lighter or the same weight as my stock 17" chrome rims, I think they weight about 23 lbs or so)

I want to be able to upgrade my brakes later (Supra TT, Brembo or AP Racing)

I don't know much about spacers so I don't what to deal with them if at all possible.

I want tires that will be light weight as well (I hear that Toyo TS-1 is the way to go)

I appreciate help you guys. Also let me know where I can get the rims and tires that you recommend for a good price.

Thanks alot....

T-1s from toyo is your answer

for the front, make sure you get either high disk or big caliper disk

I agree...toyo T1-S is awesome (but pricey like hell)

How about some Auto Couture Supreme BRs?

Default HRE Too Expensive

I like the HRE rims and I know that they are excellent quality but they are very expensive ( I will be looking at spending 4500 for the rims alone plus another 1000 for tires)

Anyone know where I can get the RS Watanabe Forged MG Cyclone rim and how much will it cost. Its very nice and very light.

Are Dronell Rims any good? From what I read in Camren's post they are very light. I wouldn't mind getting a 19" Dronell rim and he got them very cheap as well....I don't know how good the quality is and if I would be able to use big brakes with them.....

Any other ideas anyone....?

most dronnels have been discontinued due to supplier problem...they were branded as from japan, but made in other places around the world..that was the reason how you can get 1pc forged rim at lowere prices..

Default Old Pic of my car

Unfortunately my rims or the car is not in this shape right now.... I am hoping it will be back to normal by the end of next week with better looking rims.....These pics were taken about 8 months ago before I did the little mods.

Which dronell would look good on my i.e if I can find it. Is three piece better then 1 piece. Whats the reasoning behind it?

Hit up any of our wheel sponsors for a price on HRE's...the price you threw out was for full retail I believe (I don't know exactly which setup you used to come up with that price)

Bob, please check your email (both)...

Default Final decision time!

Hi,

I have to decide which rims I want with in next few days so that I can order them, I can't drive my car without the new rims since my factory got damaged in the accident.

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...threadid=46856

I like the spoke look (including split spoke). I wasn't too fond of my factory chrome rims so I think I am going to stay away from it. I like the clean Machine Polished look (I think it goes well with a silver gs).

I would really like to get 19 x 8.5 (245) or so front and 19 x 9.5 (275) or so rear. I want to stay away from spacers if at all possible. I don't know much about them. I want to get rims that will support big brakes (brembo or AP when I get them later). I also want the rims to be light weight.

Dronell M-10 19's (19 lbs or so) are very light but I will get flamed if I even considered getting that rim since they look like
the new M3 rims. It would be awesome if I can find a 19 inch rim that weight 19 lb and has a comparable price to dronell. Any Suggestions?

As far as my budget goes I think I can spend up to 2500 - 3000 on rims. How much would Toyo T1-S will run me in (19 245 for front and 19 275 for the rear). I appreciate all the help and if you have a hook up for good deals let me know

I like the HRE wheels but they are heavier then what I want plus they are kinda expensive. I would love it if I could find 19 inch rims that weight under 23 lbs (the stock chrome 17s weight 23 lb).

Thanks guys I appreciate everyones help and comments.

Hmm....nobody is posting anything anymore. Maybe I stunned the wheel gods Well HRE's are out of the question it will take 6 weeks to make them and I need my rims within next 2 weeks or so as I don't have any rims for my car right. I have 3 bent rims if anyone is interested in buying em :-p

I like the way the Volk AV3's look but they are very bulky 19 x 8.5 and 19 X 10 are (30 - 32 lbs). I want to get rims that are between 20-25 lbs and look similar to Volk AV3. Any one got any ideas?

I was looking at the SSR GT3 and most of my friends who looked at it liked the Volk AV3 alot better then the SSR GT3....What do you guys think?

Thanks everyone for your help! I will post pics of my car next week once I get the new rims and everything.....
