Default 2nd Gen Wheel gurus weigh in

I have a 98 gs300 and want a basically stock look with no rubbing issues. DF210 springs with 18 x 8 or 18 x 8.5 and a 245/40 18 all around. What offsets would acheive this look ?

Does a lip vs lipless wheel have an effect on what offset would work?

I notice that a stock gs430 18" has a 45mm offset and its a lipless wheel, if i found a wheel with a lip IE. stern would i need to compensate for the lip via the offset to make sure the wheels look stock in relation to staying under the fenders and not rub?

thanks

nope, lips don't matter when calculating anything on a wheel... brake clearance can be an issue with wheels with thicker lips, but only when dealing with big brakes

true but normally the lower the offset, the more lip.

if you want a stock look, why not get the same wheel specs as stock?

Any reason why 8 in front? 8.5 in back? You'd be still easily safe with 8.5 in front and 9-10 in back? Nothing wrong with 8/8.5 combo. Just wondering.

neo > im looking for fairly cheap wheels and have seemed to find 8 x 18 or 8.5 x 18 by stern and a few others i wasn't thinking of a staggered set just wondered what the offsets should be for either an 8 or 8.5?

neme > most of the cheap stuff seems to be lips of different amounts which i wasn't sure would change the offset from a stock gs430 wheel... which has no lip i like the stock gs430 five spoke but they are pricey and hard to find
