Default S.o.s!!!!!!

i need help. I bent one of my rims and not really sure if it can be fixed. I went to this rim shop and they told me it could be done but the fact that it's an aluminum rim, if they tried it would weaken the metal. is this true? jus double checking cause this other guy told me it could be done and there wouldn't be any negative affects. So have any of you heard of rebending aluminum wheels????

I'm not an expert on this, but if it's a 2 or 3 piece wheel, you can get the bent part replaced; otherwise you might need a new wheel. I'm guessing you wouldn't be able to repair it to the same strength it was before.

I'll let someone more experienced answer for sure, but that's what I'd think.

Is the rim bent or is the lip bent?

Two different problems and two different solutions!

I can help with the second....I have fixed bent lips on my car several times already.

Post a picture. I may be able to recommend a solution.

Peace

the outer lip is the bent part. I'll take pics as soon as i can but it's not a serious problem.. the guy that looked at it said it can still be used w/o any problems. It jus annoys me that's all.

Since its the outer lip, you should be able to repair it yourself if you're careful. Get a rubber mallet and bang it back into place.

If that does not do the trick, get a rag put over the bent part and get a metal hammer and bang back into place.

It has worked for me a couple times. You cannot notice the difference.

Good luck.
Peace.
