Default Blitz Z2 repair problem

I sent one of my rear Blitz z2 wheels to Wheels America in Dallas to get repaired. It has a bend in the outside lip where it made contact with a curb. You cannot feel the bend while driving and the wheel does not leak. They told me that it is non repairable due to some "plastic" coating on the lip of the wheel that will break if they try to bend it out. What on earth are they talking about? If it has such a coating would the bend not have broken it? These are just off the shelf Blitz wheels with nothing special done to them.

I've never heard of such a thing. Do they mean clearcoat?? That's weird. Well, to repair the wheel they'd have to heat it up and then bend it back to true the wheel, so that so-called "plastic" coating would melt during the repair process so I don't think they have to worry about "breaking" the "plastic" coating. I would ask for a detailed explanation.

I tried to get them to explain why this wheel is such a problem when they have already fixed one of my other Z2's but he could not really explain it to me. The other wheel they repaired has had the lip re-polished so I am not quite sure what they are talking about.

you might have just found one of the not so bright ones there that is either new or lazy...

many polished lip wheels have a clear coat that they may not be able to reproduce 100%...
