Please keep wheel related posts in the Wheels Forum and DO NOT multi-post the same thing on different forums.
As for your question, it will NOT rub but it's going to look like a SUV tire...don't jackass your ride...on a 8.5" wheel, 245 is the "correct" size...255 is OK too but may not look as nice as 245 (at least IMO)...

Yes, 275 is too wide for an 8.5" wide wheel. Yes, it'll probably rub, mostly because it's too tall for the GS by about 2".
Stick with 245/35zr20 or buck-up for wider wheels, playa...

Missing the boat.
Is it just me or is someone missing the boat?
I believe the proper fit is a 245/30/20 and you are proposing a 275/35?? 245/35 is the size for a 19x8.5" wheel.
This will be way larger in diameter...also hindering your acceleration...didn't you just post about wanting your car faster?
I'm not trying to be an *** but to me the VERY FIRST thing that you do when putting new tires/wheels on is make sure the overall diameter remains the same....unless you are intentionally altering it.
Do it right...get the right size tire...don't degrade the Lex.

WTF ??!?!
Man sometimes yall **** me off....
i just asked a dam question... just to find out if ti will rub or not. i didnt ask for you to preach. it was a simple yes or no.... dont have to be an *** on every post! and yea i want my car fast.. but that dosent mean im gonna roll on light 10inch rims.
i know the correct size for the FRONT is 245/30(35)/20
I belive i asked for rear setup... which can take a slightly larger tire... i was just wondering if 275 would rub or not .... not like i was gonna put it on... just wanted know your opinion.. Not insults.
Thanks for those who actully helped

Ok, everyone relax...don't make me do something you don't want me to do...
Camren, just stick with 245 all the way around...it will let you rotate your tires also (unless they're direction in which case you can do a front to rear swap)
I understand where AgGS400 is coming from...many of us are sick of people trying to do jack@ss things to their Lexus rather than just doing it right...afterall, you wouldn't have asked if you weren't thinking about doing it...
Everyone who has read this forum knows that 275's fit on GS...

Camren,
I think the point that everyone was trying to get across is that an 8.5" rim is too narrow for a 275mm tire. 8.5" is only 215.9mm, so the 275 tire is better suited to a 9.5 or 10" rim. Since you already have the tires, if you do mount them on the 8.5" rim, be prepared for them to really bulge out on the sides. Hope this helps.

As for saying that you weren't going to put the tires on...didn't the first post say that you already bought them!?!?!
245/35/20 is not the right size tire. It IS 245/30/20 unless you want the diameter to increase about 1.5".
You are correct that the rear tire can be larger (i.e. wider...not taller) A 275 tire will fit with 20" rims in the rear but you are looking at a 25 series tire...not a 35 series. Here we are talking about a 2.25" INCREASE in diameter. Spend the $$ to get the correct tire PLLLLLEEEEEAAAAASSSSSEEEEE.
Peace out.

Yep, 245/30zr20 would be great... if someone made it. For all intents and purposes, 245/35zr20 is as "right" as you can get.
Technically speaking, that's why 20s are "too big" for the GS... not that people shouldn't or wouldn't do it anyway.

20inch wheels , i think are perfect* because the GS is a fatt car... 20's suit it... if your gonna show it of... but i agree if you want a easy ride go with 18's or 17's....
i ended up getting new nittos 245/35/20zr
i got 245"35"20 because i Wanted the diameter to be a little bigger so it wouldnt be a realli harsh ride... bigger the tire.. better the ride? ...
oh bTw i have 1 285/30/20 and 2 275/30/20 , stock new rear spoiler... just sitting around.... just becuase i have it dosent mean im gonna use it.
the back looks kinda funni now... before i had 255 on the back and it looked nice.. now i have 245 on the back and now it looks funni/stupid ..
Thanks
im gonna trade those out with 255
