Question: 19" vs 18" tires
I was wondering if it is true that 19" tires wear faster than 18"? I'm trying to get some aftermarket wheels for my IS and everyone kept saying to get 19s, but I myself really want 18s. I drive my car daily (about 80miles a day) and don't want to replace tire every few months. Also does it kill your mpg? Thanks

no it is not true just because of size, depends on your tire wear rating and what tires you are going to get, also how you drive is factored in as well.
MPG will be decreased if they are "heavier" than stock wheels or you get wrong sized tires which will throw off your speedometer and when you calculate your mpg might show less mileage to a tank than there really is.
You can actually benefit from using aftermarket wheels as well as for weight, some wheels weighs in at less than 22lbs per rim and are 18',19's.
