Default Tire recommendation for 17/18 combo

Ok, I'm selling a pair of 17's for the rear and will be picking up a pair of 18x9.5's. In the front I have 235/45. What would be the best tire size in the rear to compliment the front tires?

275/35-18

assuming you have an offset in the +30 to +40 range...

The offset on the rims front and rear are +15. The fronts are 17x9.5 with a 235/45 tire. I had a 255/40/17 in the rear and it fit fine, but there was more wheel gap than I wanted. My car is dropped on Espelir springs. I think a 275/35/18 might be a bit too wide. How would a 255/40/18 look?

Are these for the SC?

I don't really "get" why you would stagger the diameters.
The rear tires will end-up being more low-profile than the front
in most "proper" tire applications. The front wheels never look
big enough.
