Question: Whats the first # mean on a tire?

Hey I always wanted to know what the first number means and how to read it on a tire. I'm talking about the 275/19/35 - 275 part. Can someone explain it to me. =]

Well the first number on the tire is the overall width of the tire itself. The second number is the percentage of the width the sidewall is. And finally the 3rd number is the size rims the tire goes on. Hope this helps.
