Default '92 SC300 | Brake Help!? | "Aliga" | LS400

Driver front caliper and rear rotors bad on my newly-acquired SC300.

If I understand correctly from prior postings:

1. front calipers from same year LS400 will bolt up?
(is this accurate?)

2. vendor by name of "Aliga" has good brake prices?
(cannot find in search box)

3. aftermarket calipers can be of sketchy quality from usual suppliers?
(we have AutoZone, Discount Auto and O'Reilly's in our little town)

Any quidance/clarification would be appreciated as my car is on the rack
and the suppliers in our little town have either (1) sent us wrong parts
(e.g. '02 IS300) or (2) quoting "off the chart" OEM prices.

I am looking for quality, without paying an OEM or performance
premium as I drive the car very conservatively.

Thanks,

Jay

1. Yes, they will bolt up. You will need wheels to fit.
2. Yes, aliga has great price and service
3. You could get the calipers from Aliga and then buy Brembo blanks and ceramic pads from Tirerack.com.

Aliga does offer some of the lowest prices out there for anything that has to do with an SC. You'll find him over in the SC300/SC400 Classifieds. If you're looking to upgrade to LS400 brakes I would look for a newer year such as 98-00 since they've got lower miles and will most likely not require a rebuild. But the rest of the years fit also. Go ahead and shoot him a PM and see what he can do. For pads and rotors, Tire Rack is the place to go. I got mine from them.

if you get LS brakes, make sure your wheels will clear...

I haven't had any real problems other than one issue out of hundreds of calipers purchased from parts suppliers
