Default Same Tire Size, Different Width??

What's up fellas! Will I'm still thinking of it, I am riding 20x10 in the back with Nitto 555 275/30ZR20's in the back. My Pop's has a G35 with Falcon 452's 20x10 275/30ZR20's in the back as well. He noticed my tire was wider than his. I told him he was crazy, so we measured them. My tire was a full 1/2" wider than his. What's up with that?? Do different brands differ that much?

Yup, some tires have rounded edges, some are more flat. I've also heard people having tires that don't rub at all, then they switch brands and it starts rubbing.

correct, the numbers are just a reference, different brands and even models could have very different actual size. dunlop, toyo, they are usually on the narrow side. bridgestone, yoko, michelin, they are often on the wide side

tread width varies... section width should be relatively the same - thats the distance from the middle of the sidewall from side to side...

as mentioned, certain tire manufacturers have wider tread widths... also, certain tire designs have a more blocked shoulder whereas others have a more rounded shoulder...

Anyone tried 215 55 r17 and get good MPG? Someone tried it, see below link.

215 55 r17 give you better handle with road bump because it thicker tire.

Why would you consider all terrain tires for strictly highway driving?
