Positive sales/installation experience at Tire Rack HQ
Hey guys,
I stopped by Tire Rack's HQ in South Bend last week to get snow shoes for my F and wanted to thank Brandon for sponsoring this forum and getting me all set. I opted for the 18" OZ Superleggera (black) and 225/45R18 Blizzak LM-25's. It's annoying that TPMS is required so I had to get sensors which set me back almost $400, but that's not Tire Rack's fault, of course.
I'd been driving on the OEM max perfs (re50a) all winter, which was admittedly fun at times but we got some really bad snow up here last week so was glad Tire Rack was able to take my order and install them right away. In fact, from the time I called Brandon to place my order and the time I was driving away in my new tires it was only a little over 2 hours, which is pretty amazing considering that includes the time I had to drive over as well... and that was a brutal drive, given there was plenty of packed snow on the ground. They also wrapped and loaded up my tires into the car. The only thing I had to actively do was take the car down to the dealership to initialize the TPMS sensors, which Tire Rack gave me the serial #'s for.
It was also a lot of fun poking around the wheel showroom and checking out all the offerings. Their facility is really huge. Random that they're in South Bend, although I guess there is a bit of automotive history in that city.
Given how much snow we are getting here in the Midwest, I should also note that I pretty much think the LM-25 Blizzaks are the greatest thing man has ever produced.
