Default Need Wheel Choice/Fitment Help...

I just got 18" for my is300... the fitment are: 18x8.5 +40 / 18x9.5 +45, i want to have a slight strech because i will be slamming my car to maximum drop with coilovers!

what is the best specs/tires to go with to go with:

Fronts...
215/40/18 or 225/40/18

Rears...
235/35/18 or 245/35/18

Also, Yokohama S. Drives or Yokohama Advan S.4.

- thanks

with those offsets i HIGHLY doubt you're going to need a stretch.
conservative to the max.

do you even know WHY you stretch tires?

you stretch to gain clearance IF you are rubbing the tires against the fender or shock body. with those offsets you could drop the car to the floor on air and still be able to run "true" or even "fatty" sizes.

stretching tires more than needed, especially when stretching ISNT needed is as much a ricer mod as spoilers and coffeecan mufflers.

what will you be rubbing against? if anything with the camber you'll have you'll hafta worry about the inner liner/shock body more than the fender.

yup... I run 18x8.5 on the front with a 255/35-18 and +40 offset and my car is lowered a little over 2" - that is a WIDE tire for the front (wider than you are wanting for the rear), and it only rubs under full turn steering lock and suspension compression at the same time - it does not rub over bumps nor when just turning. on the rear, with a +45 offset, you can easily run a 275/35-18 with no fender rolling... I have 285's with +35 offset and did roll the fenders, the fenders are about 10mm, so with +45, you'll be just fine...

As PD said, please don't stretch tires unless you have to to get the wheels to fit - stretched tires look bad IMO, stretched tires on wheels that aren't beyond flush looks REALLY bad...

Granted, this is on a SC400, but the IS's of those years are pretty similar with offsets...
